Brief Description of Special Needs catered for

 

Moor House School is a non-maintained residential special school for pupils with severe specific speech and language impairment. Fees are paid by the referring local education authority who also pay travelling expenses.

Admission criteria –

  1. The child’s primary disability or need is in the area of speech, language and communication.
  2. The pupil can access the specialist curriculum and educational provision provided at the school.
  3. There is an appropriate peer group and the pupil will achieve his/her potential in line with the general standards achieved by the pupil’s peers.
  4. The pupil will achieve his/her potential through the intensive speech and language therapy programme provided at Moor House School,
  5. The provision at Moor House School will enable the pupil to have a complete and successful experience of school in preparation for a fulfilling independent future.

 

How Parents Obtain a Place

Prior to application, prospective parents should visit Moor House School, without their child. Moor House School usually accepts pupils who are refered by their Local Education Authority.
